Editorial Policy
How this content gets made — and how to hold us to it.
LaunchLoop publishes cost models, revenue estimates and launch guides that people make real financial decisions on. That only works if the process behind them is visible. This is that process.
Who writes LaunchLoop
LaunchLoop content is produced by the LaunchLoop editorial team: operators who have started, run or sold small local service businesses, working alongside a research process that pulls public data from federal and state sources. Guides are written by a human, generated content is templated from reviewed datasets, and every published figure traces back to either a named source or the published scoring model.
What we verify before publishing
Every guide is checked against four things before it ships.
- Cost figures: cross-checked against current retail and marketplace listings for the equipment named.
- Revenue figures: bounded to what one operator can realistically bill in a week at local pricing — never a crew, never a best case presented as typical.
- Licensing claims: linked to the official state or city authority, which is always the final word over anything we write.
- Local data: population, income, home value and climate figures come from the sources named in our methodology, not from other blogs.
How our own numbers are calculated
Scores like the Opportunity Score, Demand Score and Startup Cost Index are LaunchLoop originals. They are deterministic — the same inputs always produce the same number — and every formula, input and scale is published on our methodology page, along with the model version and review date.
How we use AI
AI is used in two places, both disclosed. It personalizes your launch plan from the four questions you answer, and it assists in drafting long-form guide sections. It does not invent figures: all costs, revenue ranges and scores come from the reviewed datasets and the published model. Every AI-assisted page is reviewed by a person before it goes live.
What we don't do
No income guarantees. No paid placements dressed up as recommendations. No fabricated case studies or testimonials. No scare-tactic urgency. If a business is a bad idea in a given market, our data says so rather than selling optimism.
Affiliate disclosure
LaunchLoop is free forever. We may earn a small referral commission when you buy recommended equipment or software through a partner link. Recommendations are chosen on fit for a first-time local operator, and a commission never changes a ranking, a score or a piece of advice. Partner links are labelled where they appear.
Corrections
Found a number that is wrong, a licensing rule that changed, or a link that no longer resolves? Email hello@launchloopio.com with the page URL and the specific figure. We correct on the page, and material corrections are noted in the next scheduled review. We do not silently delete errors.
Review cadence
Costs and equipment prices are reviewed on a rolling basis. Local economic and climate data is refreshed when the underlying source publishes an update. The scoring model carries a version number, so any figure you have quoted is traceable to the model that produced it.
